The inaugural Empowerment and Policy Conference, powered by the Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus and the Urban League of Louisiana, is a statewide convening designed to examine systems, influence policy decisions, and enact changes that will positively impact African Americans in Louisiana. The Conference will provide a platform for local, state, and national thought leaders, policy makers, community leaders, and residents to discuss, debate, and advance conversation and thinking about a multitude of issues that are of importance to African Americans in Louisiana. The conference will feature panels including: Creating an Environment for African Americans to Thrive in Louisiana Mental Health: The Stigma that Stops Us $3.5 Billion...That's Billion with a B Intersection of Race, Identity, and Mission Ticket Information We have two ticket options available. By purchasing a paid Priority Ticket, you will have access to priority seating and receive the full experience including an opening reception and closing luncheon. To ensure that community members from across Louisiana are able to attend this unprecedented event, we will also have a limited number of General Admission tickets that will be available in September and can be reserved at no cost. This ticket will allow you to attend the conference. These tickets are intended to provide access for those who would not otherwise be able to attend.
